What is in a Data Brief?

We publish data briefs to illustrate the performance of our different products and these characterise things like the hardware usage, the error correction capability and also the throughput and latency that can be expected for these products.

I'm Rob Maunder, I'm the CTO of the company and I've been here since the start in 2016. We publish data briefs to illustrate the performance of our different products and these characterise things like the hardware usage, the error correction capability and also the throughput and latency that can be expected for these products.

Each data brief contains a block diagram that illustrates clearly all the different components that are included inside that particular IP block. Very typically, we implement more than just the core processing but also all of the peripherals that go with that. So the block diagrams illustrate this.

We also have tables that quantify the logic usage, the memory usage, the clock frequency that we achieve, peak throughput, hardware efficiency, latencies, these kind of things. Then we also have plots that characterise the performance as functions of the jobs that they're doing, the block lengths that we're trying to decode; providing very comprehensive analysis across the full range of supported run-time flexibility and these focus on error correction capability, latency and throughput.

We have a library of data briefs already generated which deal with typical use cases, but if a customer has a very particular set of requirements in mind, then they can let us know those requirements.

Perhaps its a particular latency, throughput, logic usage, and we can do a study of all the different parameters that we have, we can find the combination that best meets those requirements and generate a specific data brief for that customer.

If that's the case then get in touch and we can generate that for you.

We have produced data briefs across a wide variety of different scenarios. These can be found within our resources section.
